Trying to lose a few pounds?

Okay so have had kids and now want to lose some weight and when you are always on the go fast food comes in to play and so does unwanted fat...! So was wondering if anyone had a realistic diet of basic foods to lose my baby chub? Heard that eating boiled eggs and only the whites is a good for a diet but what is this about pickles?
