Is it right for catholic or christian can celebrate other religion festival?

How can Catholic and Christian can celebrate other religion festival like Chinese New Year, Vesak Day, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali, Buddha Birthday…etc? A true catholic should follow the rules and laws. The bible say (New King James Version) say Leviticus 19:4 – Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the LORD your God. Exodus 22:20 – He who sacrifices to any god, except to the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed. Those days Saint Peter times – those day Christian follow the law and rule but why now days people saying that we follow our cultural and race? The elders give me rules and laws that I should follow this and that but they themselves not following. What catholic or Christian is it? I was kick out of Catholic Church and now I am a Christian.
