HSV-1 Never had an outbreak, 38 weeks pregnant risks to the baby?

At the beggining of my pregnancy they tested me and told me that I tested positive for HSV-1. Not really that big of a deal, I know that it's extremely common (cold sores etc). Now I'm at the end and they asked me if I'd like to take acyclovir to prevent an outbreak before delivery to ensure the safety of the baby. I've never had a cold sore and never had a genital outbreak so I'm a little worried that I'll be taking this medication without knowing the risks for no reason since they don't know the risks of the medication yet. My question is what are the risks to the baby if I don't take the medication? I've never had a genital outbreak or a cold sore so........ I'm just worried that the risks of the medication outweigh the risks of her getting infected.
