Spiritually speaking, why are atheists here, anyway?

Everyone has a right to have their own opinion and their own religion. You can't force another person's beliefs on someone. I don't think there is anything in the whole world that every person on earth will agree with, except for the fact that we all die eventually. I don't really know how much of the bible I believe in. My husband is catholic, and his theory is that the stories in the Bible are just general ideas about how things may have happened.
