About meringue....why it shrinks after I turn off the oven??? it was perfect...?
There are better meringue cookie recipes add a pinch of salt and a pinch of cream of tartar to your egg whites beat till soft then add the sugar 1 teaspoon at time beating to incorporate the sugar with the air also make sure you are baking the cookies long enough if they are shrinking alot increase your baking time baking till they just begin to crack Go to cooks.com for many meringue cookie recipes and browse thru the methods... adding a tablespoon of cornstarch and 2 tablespoon of cold water mix then add 1/2cup watercook till thick and almost clear then cool completely add slowly to egg whites and sugar while beating works also You can also add a teaspoon cornstrach to the sugar when adding to the egg whites
